Autism in the workplace

Our autism in the workplace course is for anyone interested in this developing area as to how autism affects autistic employees in the workplace.

It will provide employers, staff and human resources personnel with awareness and strategies to support autistic employees.

This course comes in two separate options depending on the intensity of course you would like. There is a two-day intensive course giving an in depth understanding of the autism spectrum or a three-hour course that provides a basic understanding of autism.

Option 1: Two-day course

Participants will gain:

• An in depth understanding of the autism spectrum, prevalence and the diagnostic process, including issues around diagnosis/recognition for adult.
• An understanding of the issues autistic people may face in the workplace and ways of making workplaces autism friendly.
• Knowledge around employer adjustments and workplace strategies, including legislation and the law.
• Knowledge and understanding around the prevalence of mental health issues in autistic employees and strategies to support wellbeing.
• Confidence working with autistic employees and learn more about the strengths autistic employees bring to the workplace.

Option 2: Three-hour course

Participants will gain:

• An awareness of autism, the spectrum, prevalence and the diagnostic process, including issues around diagnosis/recognition for adults.
• An understanding of the issues autistic people may face in the workplace and ways of making workplaces autism friendly.
• Knowledge around employer adjustments and workplace strategies, including legislation and the law.
• Confidence working with autistic employees and learn more about the strengths autistic employees bring to the workplace.
