Autism and ageing

This workshop is aimed at anyone interested in this emerging area as to how ageing and the ageing process affects autistic adults.

This course also considers the future health and social care needs of autistic adults as they age.

Participants will gain

• An awareness of autism in older adults and the challenges of diagnosing autism in adults and the older population.
• Knowledge and understanding around the ageing process, the physical and psychological changes associated with ageing.
• Knowledge of loss and bereavement and the impact on autistic adults.
• Awareness of the future health and social care needs of autistic adults into maturity, and strategies to promote physical and mental wellbeing.
