Applications open for AEM trustees

Autism East Midlands is looking to recruit three additional trustees to join the board and help the charity continue to make a positive impact on the lives of autistic people and their families.

As the largest independent autism charity in the East Midlands, AEM is particularly looking for people with experience gained while working within an adult social care environment or have financial experience. With a focus on diversity and inclusivity, applications are welcomed from people with lived experience of autism.

AEM's mission is to recognise and respond to the needs of the individual, enabling autistic people to live their lives with dignity, choice and independence. Board trustees play a key role by helping steer and govern the organisation so that it can continue to develop into the future.

The charity has been in operation for well over 50 years and supports autistic people from the age of 4 throughout their lives. This is done through its non-maintained special school based in Nottingham, as well as day and accommodation-based services for adults across the region. The organisation also delivers non- commissioned services to support families, children and young people.

Meetings will normally be held as hybrid meetings, which means that applications are invited nationally as well as regionally.

If you’ve the time and experience and share our passion to make a real difference, AEM would like to hear from you. Full details can be found here > AEM Board of Trustees.
