Sherwood Centre marks end of Olympics with Sports Day

As we say goodbye to the Olympic Games, our Sherwood Centre in Mansfield Woodhouse hosted their very own Sports Day.
Taking inspiration from this year's Olympic Games in Paris, service users at our Sherwood Centre decided to design a little sports event of their own.
As everyone rallied to compete in their respective categories, there were cheers and smiles all around.
Games included:
- Three-legged race
- Egg-and-spoon race
- Football penalty shootouts
- Basketball shots
- Bean bag throwing
Winners for each category were awarded with home-made wooden medals (pictured below).
Well done to all service users who took part!
About our Sherwood Centre:
Based in Mansfield Woodhouse, our Sherwood Centre is best known for its wide array of accessible activities and skills that service users can develop over their time with us.
From a spacious woodwork room to our verdant gardens and greenhouse, to our large kitchen area, there is somewhere for everyone and everything is catered to the interests of our users.
There is also a sensory element to the hub which offers a lot of activities through music and sensory exploring.
Our Sherwood Centre also recently gave its gym a makeover, thanks to the generous donations of Support Worker Emily and the parents of service user Ben Vickers.
Thank you for reading and supporting the work we do, as it all helps in providing a valuable service to autistic people in the East Midlands.
