Pronto Rugby raises £1000 for Autism East Midlands

Pronto Rugby recently competed in a charity rugby match at Long Eaton with Autism East Midlands as one of their chosen charities.
Andrew from our South Lodge & Iedale service loves rugby.
So when Pronto Rugby invited us to a charity rugby match to raise money for the vital services that we provide for autistic people, they were thrilled that we were bringing a rugby fan.
A lifelong fan of rugby and of sports in general, Andrew arrived at the event with his Support Worker wearing a rugby shirt and was invited to watch a private warm-up match between the players before the big event.
Andrew couldn't keep a smile off his face as he watched the team warm up, carried the rugby ball across the pitch and sat with the team for our cheque presentation.
He was also invited to watch the charity match, which raised a further £1,040 through stash sales, raffles, a shirt auction and player fines. This will be divided between Autism East Midlands and another chosen charity.
Massive thanks to everyone involved in the event, which made a big impact on Andrew's day, with more service users to benefit from Pronto Rugby's generous donations.
"Andrew had a great day with us. And we couldn’t be prouder of the way the Pronto Rugby family welcomed and hosted him throughout the day."
Representative of Pronto Rugby
Being in attendance as Andrew met the Rugby team was incredible, you could really see how important it was for the team to meet one of the service users that their money would support.
The team let him hold the ball, they made a tunnel for him to walk through and smiled as Andrew joined them for the cheque presentation.
Wonderful time had by all.
Hannah Foulstone-Dalsgaard, Marketing Officer
It's good to see people we support enjoying their special interests. Thanks to the Rugby Club and staff at South Lodge for making this happen.
