Dukeries enjoy archeology session with Heritage in Mind

Our Dukeries Centre was recently visited by Laura from Heritage in Mind, who came to deliver one of their popular archeology sessions.

Heritage in Mind is a pilot project showcasing the importance of archaeology and heritage to health and wellbeing.

The project aims to do this by offering hands-on sessions in artefact handling and coin rubbing.

Lots of the people we support volunteered to join in and really enjoyed themselves.

Some of the artefacts handled were over 2000 years old!

With our person-centred approach, it is ultimately the choice of each person we support whether or not to participate in activities.

On this occasion, many did and lots of lovely feedback was received about the sessions.
